Owen MacDonald is beginning a new career at New Energy Works in the timber framing design and build industry. He has spent the past 2 years working in the boat and composite industry as a project coordinator. He managed the build of 6 custom yachts for his client Summit Yachts. He also project managed other custom project clients such as VX One Design and Aeroprakt America. Owen is excited to bring his engineering knowledge and ability to conceptualize projects from start to finish to the timber framing industy.

- Manage the Summit Yachts IRC designed racing sailboat construction project beginning with the Summit 35 hull number 003
- Launched the Summit 40 project from the ground up including assisting the laminate engineers, setting up the bill of materials, and organizing a construction schedule
- Create new parts and options for the powerboat lines and input them into the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system
- Investigate and solve bill of material problems relating to missing and extra parts for each specific boat
- Quote special new projects including the VX One Design racing sailboat to which EdgeWater Boats was awarded the build contract
